Welcome to Valencia

City of Arts & Sciences

After years of flooding the city, in 1969 Valencia's river Turia was diverted, leaving space for the now beautiful Turia Park to be created. Full of nature, we suggest taking a walk down the river bed to get to the infamous City of Arts and Sciences (a large, avant-garde culturaland architectural complex in Valencia, Spain, designed by architects Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela)

PSA: the area holds the magic, it's not necessary to enter any of the museums!

The Old Town - "El Carmen"

El Carmen, Valencia’s enchanting old town, is a neighbourhood of cobbled streets and lively plazas where the city’s past and present come together for a mix of culture, nightlife and local flavour.

Explore the Torres de Serranos, climb the Torres de Quart and soak up Valencian culture in Plaza de La Virgen. With its iconic architecture and vibrant atmosphere, the Mercat Central is a must-see destination for foodies and local produce lovers.

For a view of the city, climb the Torre del Micalet (where we had one of our first ever dates!)

Finish your exploration with a drink at Café Negrito or Cappuccino.

City of Valencia

Valencia’s city centre is a vibrant playground of great restaurants, shops and culture. Head to Calle Colón for a shop, stop at Mercat de Colón for a drink and visit the heart of the city in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, where history meets hustle.

The Beach

The most famous and best-known beach in Valencia, the Malvarrosa is easy to access and a great place to spend an afternoon. Whilst it may not be the best weather to get a tan, the beach offers a beautiful, long promenade to wander down and stop for a bite to eat or drink.

If you fancy it, walk up to La Patacona beach and stop at La Más Bonita for great brunch, lunch, or coffee & cake.

Golf

For those inclined, here are a few of the golf courses that you can find around the city:

  • Escorpión - Bétera (North Valencia)

  • Manises - Near the airport

  • Foressos - Picassent (South Valencia)

  • Parador - El Saler
